Beauty Horror Movie Night – Part 3

A creepy, slaying short film night — specially curated by FINAL GIRLS BERLIN, a Berlin-based horror film festival that has been showcasing horror and genre cinema by women and non-binary filmmakers for over 11 years. Final Girls Berlin is dedicated to carving out space for female and queer voices in horror — whether monstrous, heroic, or deliciously messy.
Tired of seeing women reduced to beautified victims or male fantasies, the festival champions stories where women are not objects but creators, subjects, and survivors.

3 PM Thursdays (6:23) – Written and directed by Michele Kaye, Canada, 2023

Loneliness and an obsession with vanity has pushed one woman to take unconventional measures to find happiness. Symbols of birth, death and rebirth grace the film and asks the audience to ponder the question: How far would you go to turn back time?

Spell On You (20:00)- Directed by Sarah Lasry, France, 2022
Salomé has a wart on her nose. She’s disgusted by her own reflection. At night, she spies on her parents through the keyhole. Strange things are happening, which no one speaks of.

About BEAUTY HORROR MOVIE NIGHT:
This mini-series explores obsession, aging, femininity, and resistance through surreal storytelling, visual intensity, and feminist rage – all from the perspective of women and non-binary filmmakers.
Distorted beauty ideals and the desire for love, power, or control lead to radical self-modification: the body becomes a battlefield – or a weapon.
